SUMMARY:Call for applications: three-day residential summer school in Beirut – 6-9 June 2023
DESCRIPTION:As part of the British Academy-funded Bilateral Research Chair in Education Research in Conflict and Crisis, The Centre for Lebanese Studies in Collaboration with LERRN (Local Engagement Refugee Research Network) based at Carleton University is organising their first summer school under the title: ‘Unpacking the industry of refugee education and research: towards equitable theory and practice’. This is a three-day residential summer school that will take place in Beirut – Lebanon between 6-9 June 2023*.\nThe main themes that will be covered in the summer schools are:\n\nEducation, policy and humanitarianism\nEquitable partnerships\nTheorising and Knowledge Production\n\nWe invite students, academics, researchers, and practitioners in the fields of education, refugee education, education in emergencies, refugee studies, and other related fields to apply.\nThe majority of the sessions will be in English, simultaneous translation into Arabic will be available.\nSelection criteria:\n\nApplicants from around the world are encouraged to apply, particularly those living and working in conflict affected areas.\nCandidates should be studying, researching, and/or working in the field of refugee education, education in emergencies, refugee studies, and other related fields.\n\nTo apply: please send your CV and a one-page written letter of interest or a 2-min recorded video explaining:\n\nHow are the themes of the summer school related to your work or field of study\nHow will this summer school support your work, research or studies\nHow will you contribute to the summer school.\n\n– Please send your application to info@lebanesestudies.com and include “Summer School” in the subject line. \n– If you are submitting a video, please upload it first to Google Drive, OneDrive or WeTransfer, and only send the link the uploaded file.\n\nDeadline: 6 April 2023\n*The summer school will be fully funded.\n
