As part of the British Academy-funded Bilateral Research Chair in Education Research in Conflict and Crisis, The Centre for Lebanese Studies in Collaboration with LERRN (Local Engagement Refugee Research Network) based at Carleton University is organising their first summer school under the title: “The Industry of Education in Conflict: Ethical Scholarship and Practice”. This is a three-day residential summer school that will take place in Homerton College – University of Cambridge between 5-7 September 2024*.
The main themes that will be covered in the summer schools are:
- Ideological and theoretical foundations of Education in conflict
- Social Justice and anti-racism in the agenda of education in contexts of conflict: Research, Policy and Practice
- Education Programming and Practice: access provisions, language policies, curricula, alternative assessments
We invite students, academics, researchers, and practitioners in the fields of education, refugee education, education in emergencies, refugee studies, and other related fields to apply.
The sessions will be in English.
Selection criteria:
- Applicants from around the world are encouraged to apply, particularly those living and working in conflict affected areas.
- Candidates should be studying, researching, and/or working in the field of refugee education, education in emergencies, refugee studies, and other related fields.

- How will you contribute to the summer school.
