This piece of research, culminating in a conference, sought to understand through the multidisciplinary analysis of space and the processes of planning and reconstruction,in a historical context, and to reveal the various practices of space negotiation from a number of perspectives and scales, in an attempt to provide a fresh understanding of the making and re-making of space in Lebanon. Scholars and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines, including history, planning, politics, geography, sociology and architecture attended and the outcomes were published in October 2008.
