UNICEF partnered with the Center for Lebanese Studies (CLS) and the Center for Education Research and Development to conduct a review of the citizenship curriculum. The review is focused on the integration of the principles of children’s rights, gender, violence and conflict management, and dialog into the new curriculum. The main objective of the content analysis is to inform the new civic textbooks and teachers’ guidebooks, which will be developed as part of the EU funded project. In order to achieve this, the study examined (1) how the civics textbooks address the above four concepts, and (2) the pedagogies adopted in teaching them.
