DINNER LECTURE H.E. AMBASSADOR TOM FLETCHER
THE SLOANE CLUB, 16th SEPTEMBER 2012 AT 7:30 PM

Our guest of honour will be Ambassador Tom Fletcher, who is currently serving as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Lebanon. He will share his insights on the current situation in Lebanon, and offer his perspective on the conflict in Syria and the risks of spill-over into Lebanon.

Ambassador Fletcher arrived in Lebanon in August 2011. Prior to his appointment, Mr Fletcher served as Foreign Policy Advisor to Prime Minister David Cameron in 2010. From 2007-2010, he served as Private Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Security and Development to Prime Minister Gordon Brown. From 2004-2007, he was head of International Policy at the British Embassy in Paris. Mr Fletcher was awarded the Companion of St Michael and St George (CMG) in the 2011 New Year Honours, for services to the Prime Minister. He is a graduate of Oxford University, and an Associate Fellow at St Antony’s College, Oxford.
