CLS Knowledge Collective Writing Retreat
For PhD researchers at any stage of their research degree.
Our monthly Writing Retreat is hosted by the CLS Knowledge Collective and delivered online.
The Writing Retreats give PhD researchers from the CLS Knowledge Collective the opportunity to devote a whole morning to writing in a structured and friendly environment. We will start with a short warm-up discussion where we can share any writing tips that have worked for us and our writing plans. The remainder of the morning will be dedicated to quiet writing (hopefully without distractions!) and a few much-need breaks to refresh your brain and body.
The Writing Retreats run on a monthly basis. Our next meeting will be on 31 May 2024 from 10:00 to 15:00 BST.
Our focus is on writing; however, you may use any materials that you need for your writing, including data, books, notes, etc. You may use a computer/laptop for your writing, but you can also use pen and paper if that helps you get your writing started!
We hope that the Writing Retreats will help you to:
- Be surrounded by a supportive community.
- Focus on your writing time according to a schedule of dedicated writing sessions and breaks.
- Give and receive feedback on your writing.
The structure is generally based on 45 mins focused writing with 15 mins break.
CLS online events policy
