Standing Strong: Lebanon’s Courage in the Face of Israeli Attacks
Event organised jointly by the Centre for Lebanese Studies and the Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) Centre, Faculty of Education
Wednesday 16 October, 17:00-18:30
This event will be held at the University of Cambridge but the exact location and building will be communicated closer to the event time.
In light of the recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon, which have tragically resulted in the deaths and injury of thousands of civilians, his Excellency Ambassador Rami Mortada, Ambassador of Lebanon to the UK, will share his insights on Lebanon’s role in the region and the urgent need for international solidarity in these trying times.
In addition, there will be a funding appeal to support relief efforts for over 1 million displaced people in Lebanon. The funds raised will be directed to SAWA for Development and Aid, an institution running several schools for displaced individuals in Beirut, Shouf, Maten, Koura, and Akkar.
Please note:
Photographic ID will be required upon arrival. If you are a University of Cambridge member of staff or student, your University card will be accepted.
This event will be at capacity so we request that you only bring small bags.
Only those registered will be admitted.
