
‘The Teacher’: film screening with Oscar-nominated & BAFTA-winning filmmaker
Join us for a screening of new award-winning Palestinian film ‘The Teacher’, followed by a discussion with Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning filmmaker Farah Nabulsi.
‘The Teacher’ shows a Palestinian school teacher who struggles to reconcile his risky commitment to political resistance with his emotional support for one of his students and the chance of a new relationship with a volunteer worker. The film is set and shot entirely in the West Bank of militarily occupied Palestine. It had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and has garnered over 15 international awards so far. The filmmaker, Farah Nabulsi is an Oscar Nominated and BAFTA-winning director. More information about the film here.
Join us from 4 pm for registration. We will start the screening at 4:30pm. This will be followed by a discussion with the film director, Farah Nabulsi, chaired by Professor Yusuf Sayed and Professor Ricardo Sabates from the Faculty of Education.
