As part of the CLS knowledge collective, this discussion will address the importance of theoretical and conceptual frameworks for research and will take as an example the women in Edtech research.
The establishment of a robust theoretical and conceptual framework is a cornerstone of successful research endeavors across various disciplines. Such frameworks provide a structured scaffolding upon which the entire research process is built. Theoretical frameworks offer a lens through which researchers can interpret and analyze data, helping to uncover meaningful patterns and relationships.
By grounding research in established theories, scholars can draw upon existing knowledge to inform their inquiries, enhancing the validity and credibility of their findings. Additionally, conceptual frameworks provide a roadmap for organizing complex ideas and guiding the exploration of key variables and their interconnections. This ensures that research remains focused, coherent, and aligned with the research objectives. Together, a well-constructed theoretical and conceptual framework serve as a guiding compass, allowing researchers to navigate the intricate landscape of their chosen subject, make informed decisions, and contribute valuable insights to the scholarly community.
This session will discuss several questions:
- How arobust framework can serve as the intellectual backbone of research, providing a structured approach for designing, implementing, and evaluating?
Application on women in edtech research - Howcan aconceptual framework, enable educators to visualize the complex interactions between various components of the system?
