Deinstitutionalization of Persons with Disabilities in the Middle East

About

The project aims at identification of existing disability organizations in Lebanon and Jordan, their prevailing approach towards disability, and the array of services with a focus on Lebanon to identify to what extent Lebanon has moved towards the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in mainstream services.

The project holds significant value for researchers as it facilitates the exchange of knowledge between researchers and these diverse organizations.

The project entails background scoping and mapping of local, regional, and international organizations working on the issue of the Deinstitutionalization of persons with disabilities with a focus on Lebanon. It seeks to build a network and partnerships in the domain of deinstitutionalization, developing South-South and North-South partnerships as well as sharing of information.
