Ola Al Samhoury

Researcher

Ola is a junior researcher at the Center for Lebanese Studies. She graduated with a BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry from the Lebanese American University. She worked with Teach For Lebanon for two years, teaching underprivileged children in rural areas then as a mentor supporting, guiding, and inspiring new teachers in their teaching experience.

Ola earned a Master’s in Education with an emphasis on leadership and management from the Lebanese American University. Through her thesis, she explored the educational challenges Syrian refugee children face in Lebanon and the academic and psychosocial support offered through non-formal early childhood education programs.

Her research interest emerges from her belief in its power to positively improve the educational system, thus leaving a collateral impact on society. In addition to refugee education, she is interested in minimizing education gaps and gender inequities, specifically the Lebanese women’s right to nationality and full citizenship.
